A little about Kingwood Lacrosse:

  • We are sponsored by Kingwood High School and a member of the Kingwood All Sports Booster Club.
  • Lacrosse is not considered a UIL sport in Texas, but is organized under the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL).
  • We are funded by the families and run by parent volunteers.
  • We are open to players from KHS, KPark, Porter, New Caney and students from public and private schools.
  • Our main season is in the Spring: January to May, but we also have a Fall Ball program during the off season (September to December) with usually two local tournaments in December.
  • There are several opportunities during the summer to play lacrosse in travel teams with local Houston area club teams.  Kingwood and Atascocita have combined to field a common team in the past.
  • There are two teams at the high school level, JV and Varsity along with a Kingwood Youth program (K to 8U) who is managed separately and practice at Healy Sportsplex off Northpark.
  • Kingwood also has a Ladies lacrosse team who have fielded a number of girls who went on to play college ball.  They went undefeated and were City Champions in 2022.
  • Our high school Men's Varsity Head Coach Will Sterner and Assistant Coach Conner Gregerson played for KW Lacrosse when they were in HS and now they are both teachers at KHS. We are a tight family.
  • Coach Sterner was named Coach of the Year for the Texas South Area and we had two players recognized last year as 1st team all-state, two players 1st team all-district and one honorable mention.
  • To date, Kingwood has more than 29 players who went on to play collegiate ball with five playing Division 1 and one player make it to the professional league (NLL).
