KINGWOOD MENS LACROSSE CLUB TOURNAMENT

CORNHOLE RULES

GENERAL
• Games are played to 21 (no penalty for going over 21)
• 278 between boards. Boards can only be moved between frames (not between tosses)
• Judges can overrule any call
• No Ame outs
POINTS
• Dirty = 0 (Bag touching the ground or that bounced off the ground onto the board)
• Board = 1 (Bag lands on the board. No extra points for hangers)
• Cornhole = 3 (Bag goes in the hole completely. Not hanging over the hole)
SCORING = CANCELLATION
• Only one team is awarded points
• No bags can be moved before scoring is agreed upon
• Per round, the points of one player cancel out the points of their opponent
• Example:
o Red achieves 1 “Board” and 2 “Cornholes”
▪ (1 x 1) + (2 x 3) = 7
o Blue achieves 2 “Boards) and zero “Cornholes”
▪ (2 x 1) + (0 x 3) = 2
o Red “Scores” 5 points for the round (7 – 2 = 5)
• Knock -Off/In: Bags can be knocked off the board or in the hole due to another pitch
• The team that “Scores”, pitches first in the next frame
• WINNING TEAM MUST REPORT THEIR WIN TO THE SCORING TABLE
PITCHING
• Underhand only
• Team members pitch from opposite boards facing each other
• All 8 bags are pitched from one end with players alternaAng pitching between teams
• Higher seeded team (top of bracket) chooses pitching lane (le8 or right side)
• Both feet must stay behind the foul line (front of box) unAl the bag lands
• Drop
o Bags dropped behind the foul line can be re-pitched
o Bags dropped in front of the foul line count as zero points
• Out-of-turn
o If a player pitches out-of-turn, pitch counts as zero points
o If an out-of-turn pitch effects bags in play the opponent has the opAon of returning bags to their original
posiAon or leaving them as is
o If the opposing team pitches without realizing the out-of-pitch occurred, the round will conAnue without
impact

• Players have 15 seconds to pitch. Loss of pitch will be assessed if player takes longer than 15 seconds
